Emily K. Blackwood, a long time resident of Yellow Springs, passed away Tuesday, May 20, in Eaglewood Care Center in Springfield. She was 95. She was born in Unionville, Pa., on October 18, 1912, the daughter of David Reed and Sarah Margaret (Hall) Keatley. Emily was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a member of Story-Hypes United Methodist Church. Her gentle wit and loving kindness were enjoyed by all who knew her.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents; husband James Glen Blackwood; son David Blackwood; and three brothers, Harold, Gilbert, and Charles Keatley. Left to cherish her memory is daughter Janet Levering of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law Harold (Nancy A.) Blackwood of Springfield; grandchildren Glen (Kathleen) Blackwood, Ruth (Michael) Blackwood Lee, Lori (Andy) Pascover, Julie (Payman) Pezhman, and Kami (Lincoln) Ruchti; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces Lois Anne Price and Jean Nelson.
