Rick Caslin

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Rick Caslin, loving son of Teresa and the late George Caslin, died Sunday, May 18. He was 59. Rick fought a valiant battle against acute promyelocytic leukemia.

Rick and Donna want to thank all of their friends and family for the love, prayers and encouragement during this difficult battle. (Rick knew that you were all there for him.)

Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Donna; stepchildren and their partners, Lisa and Kevin Fullerton, and Mike and Gwyn Rotramel; grandchildren Jake, Alexandra and Reece Fullerton; big brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Connie Caslin; nephews, Andrew Caslin and Eric Caslin and his wife, Tracy, and a very special person, Dr. Joe Lavelle, who fought hard for Rick’s life.

An informal remembrance gathering, as Rick requested, will be held later this summer for family and friends. A tree will be planted in Rick’s honor along the bike path in Yellow Springs. Contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the James Cancer Center at the Ohio State University.

One Response to “Rick Caslin”

  1. Donnie Sweet says:

The amount of sadness that I feel after finding out my old friend of the 1950′, 60′s and beyond is immeasurable. As a friend, growing-up, Rick always had the right answer and solution for our games and everyone wanted Rick on their side.
During his career Mr.Caslin and I again crossed paths to find ourselves working toward a solution to assist others in times of troubles. He was not quick with an answer. Rather Rick was mindful, thoughtful, plus very in tune with studies that were expertise to his field.
To his family; I hope his love for you will somehow give strength as he always was speaking of you. To the rest of us….continue to see what he leaves behind in legacy. For those reading that have friends of friends who knew of or about…..Mr. Rick Caslin….we miss him and will forever.
