The Yellow Springs High School football team took to the field Saturday, Aug. 22, during a weekend of scrimmages to kick off the high school’s fall sports season. Yellow Springs quarterback Ryan Newsome with the paw print helmet stretched his legs for several touchdowns against Bethel, but eventually took a 25–19 loss to the Bees. The Bulldogs next host Bradford on Friday, Aug. 28, at 7:30 p.m. for a special alumni night game. More sports are on page 10 of this week's issue.
