  • Track club excels

    Ten athletes from the Miami Valley Track Club traveled to Greensboro, N.C., last week to compete in the USA Junior Olympic Track & Field championships. Five came home as All Americans, having finished in the top eight in the nation in their events.

  • Celebration of life for Petronella Benton set

    A memorial and celebration of life will be held for former resident Petronella Benton on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 6 p.m., at the home of Nate Cornett and Lisa Wolters, 165 Brookside Drive, Yellow Springs. Friends and acquaintances alike are invited to attend.

  • Dick Miller memorial

    A memorial service for Richard (Dick) Miller will be held Sunday, Aug. 30, at 3 p.m., in the Glen Helen Building. After the service all are invited to a reception in the lobby to view a retrospective show of Dick’s long art career.

  • Evelyn Chiddister

    Evelyn Chiddister, 89, died in Bloomington, Ind., on Tuesday morning, Aug.11, following an illness. A longtime resident of Goshen, Ind., Evelyn moved to Yellow Springs to be near her daughter in June 2007 after she fell and broke her hip, living first in the Friends Care Community Extended Care Center and then in the Friends Assisted Living Center, until her move to Bloomington four months ago.

  • Lucy Fogg

    Lucy Marquerite Van Ness Fogg spent most of her adult life in Yellow Springs until eight years ago, when she moved to Carriage Court Assisted Living in Cincinnati. She died there on Saturday morning, Aug. 8. She was 92.
