Virley Mundy-Derricott

Virley Mundy-Derricott of Yellow Springs died Jan. 22 at Friends Care Center. She was 91.

Mrs. Derricott was born Aug. 11, 1918 in Valley View, Ky., a daughter of Allie L. and Nora E. (Taylor) Mundy. Mrs. Derricott retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after many years of dedicated service. She had been a member of the Church of God in Springfield. Mrs. Derricott graduated from Yellow Springs High School and had been a resident of Springfield for over 18 years before making Yellow Springs her home.

Mrs. Derricott is survived by her brother, Charles C. Mundy, sister Dorothy F. (Mundy) Allen, son Cecil O. Derricott and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Odell C. Derricott, brothers Chester Mundy, Willard Mundy and Earl Mundy and a sister, Mary Lou Rose Thornton.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 30, at Central Chapel A.M.E. Church, and burial was in Glen Forest Cemetery.
