World-class musicians play at FMC benefit

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Music lovers have a treat in store tonight at the annual Friends Music Camp Scholarship benefit concert, to take place Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 7:30 p.m. at Friends Care Center. FMC staff members and campers will perform.

The musical line-up includes world-class musicians Wendy Champney, who grew up in Yellow Springs, and her husband, Matthias Enderle, members of the Carmina Quartet chamber music qroup, based in Zurich, Switzerland. With their daughter, Chiara, the Enderles will perform movements from a Mozart string trio.

New York City professional musician Martha Hyde, who also grew up in Yellow Springs, will perform an original composition, among other pieces. Vocalist Minnita Daniel-Cox, a member of the University of Dayton faculty, will perform a soprano solo.

The suggested donation for the event is $10, and all proceeds go to the camp’s scholarship fund. Many local young people have attended Friends Music Camp, and continue to do so.

For more information, call longtime camp director Peg Champney at 767-1311.
