  • A piazza for dance, and community

    Judith Wolert-Maldonado, also known as DJ Juju, is hosting a series of Dance Piazzas this summer at 100 Corry Street. The next Dance Piazza, which takes place at 7 p.m. on July 2, will feature lessons on the bhangra dance of India.     A new jewelry store downtown has its origins in Jose Soto’s desire, 38 years ago, to capture the attention of a woman who would later become his wife.

  • Fun is afoot in Yellow Springs!

    The flash mob dance that took place during Street Fair is a recent example of creative and spontaneous fun in the village.

    Traveling Jules and Traveling Joan, the team that will judge the “Most Fun Town” category in the “Best of the Road” contest, will arrive in Yellow Springs Monday night and spend Tuesday and part of Wednesday in the village. Villagers are urged to come out for events planned during their visit.

    Welcome back!

    Antioch College announced yesterday that is has hired former theater professor Louise Smith as its new director of community life. Also this week, the college announced that Chicago-based artist Sara Black has been hired as the college’s new assistant professor in 3–D art.
