Dolly was born July 22, 1923 in Cadiz, Ky., daughter of the late John and Nora (Sumner) Armstrong. Dolly began as a registered nurse with Dr. Higgins’ private practice in Hopkinsville, Ky. She later was a registered nurse with First Community Village, retiring as head nurse in 1985.

Dolly was a graduate of Baylor University School of Nursing and a longtime member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Dolly was a former Girl Scout leader and room mother who loved putting family first. She was an avid reader, gardener and proud supporter of PBS.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Oscar Green Sr., in 1995, her brothers and sisters, Thomas and Dennis Armstrong and Eldo and Lula Humphries and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lloyd Green and Lillian Vink. Dolly will be dearly missed by her children, Gretchen Green (Stan Kronenberger), Mitzi (Steve) Fields, Theresa (Jim) Mayer and H. Oscar Green II; her grandchildren, Brian (Emilie) and Kevin Mayer, Andy Fields and Amanda (Joseph) McWilliams, faithful companion Willie and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Volunteer Partner Support Group of Goodwill Industries for the faithful assistance shown to Dolly over the years.

Friends may call noon–2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23 at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul St. Germain officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Upper Arlington Public Library Audio CD’s program, 2800 Tremont Rd., Columbus, OH 43221 or Hadley School for the Blind, 700 Elm St., Winnetka, Ill. 60093 or Goodwill Industries Volunteer Partner Support, 1331 Edgehill Road, Columbus, OH 43212, in her memory.
