Phyllis Walker
Phyllis Marie Beckford Walker died Friday, May 18 in her home in Yellow Springs. She was 86.
Phyllis was born May 13, 1926 in Cambridge, Mass. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl B. Walker, her sister, Millicent Woodfork and her brothers, Harold and William Beckford. She is survived by two daughters, Elaina M. Walker and Millicent Jones of Yellow Springs, and by her brother and sister Donald Beckford, and Alice Beckford, both of Cambridge, Mass. A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, located at 63 E. Church Street in Xenia, on Saturday, May 26 at 10:45 a.m. The service will be preceded at 10 a.m. by a service of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Phyllis’ name to the Yellow Springs Senior Center at 227 Xenia Avenue, Yellow Springs, OH 45387, to Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420 or to Christ Episcopal Church at 63 E Church Street, Xenia, OH 45385.
