B&B open house in Clifton

The community is invited to an open house this Sunday, Sept. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Herbs & Lace bed and breakfast inn at 8 Clinton Street in Clifton (right across from the Clifton Post Office).

The B&B business, along with a home on the same property, is up for sale by its owners, Sharon Benedict and Lisa Quesne. The B&B business is viable, having had only three empty weekends in 2013, according to the women, who are selling the property because they want to downsize. The asking price for both the home and B&B (along with extensive gardens on the property) is $169,900.

The two women spent several years remodeling the building that houses the B&B in the back of their lot, which was abandoned and empty for decades before they purchased the property. Once eight small rooms, now there is one large open room both downstairs and up, decorated with abundant teapots and china that brings to mind the quaint coziness of an English country cottage. Quesne grew up in England, and brought the vision of her homeland to the business.

See the Sept. 19 News for a longer article on the B&B.
