McKinney School track & field coach Isabelle Dierauer competed in the World T&F Championships for Masters Men and Women this past week in Porte Alegre, Brazil. During the last two days of the competitions she earned two gold medals while running as a member of the USA Relay team. The first came in the 4×100 meter relay when she ran the third leg (12.9) on the winning USA women’s team. Several hours later she came back and ran lead-off leg (65.0) on the winning USA 4×400 Relay.

The World Masters Track & Field Championships is for Men and Women age 35 and older.

Isabelle also competed in two individual events earlier in the meet. The first was the 100m dash were she finished with the 11th fastest time for the women in the 40–44 age group and did not make the finals. Then she participated in her best individual event, the long jump. There she soared an amazing 16’8″. Unfortunately, that only placed her 9th in the women’s 40–44 competition.
