2013 Community Thanksgiving Dinner

(Submitted photos by Joan Chappelle)

The ninth year of Yellow Springs community Thanksgiving dinner was a huge success, thanks to the combined efforts of the many people who helped set up, cooked turkeys, brought food, washed dishes, cleaned up, did the laundry and just came to share a meal. An estimated 225 people participated, including a contingent from Antioch College. As usual, there was an abundance of delicious food, although, according to organizers, the meal runs short of something each year, and this was the year for mashed potatoes. At the end, there was very little left over to be taken home. The donations from last year paid for the seven turkeys purchased from Tom’s, and donations for this year will help fund next year’s dinner.
