Return to the main article: Yellow Springs Utility funds show deficits

Vilage Council members agreed on a 15 percent increase in Village water rates, to take effect April 1, at its Feb. 18 meeting.

The topic was discussion only. Council will vote on the rate hike ordinance at its March 3 meeting.

The rate hike was 12 percent more than an already-scheduled 3 percent increase for April 1, and was sparked by concerns over increasing deficits in the Village water fund (see article).

A more detailed story will be in next week’s paper.
