Interested persons will take note that the Village Council of Yellow Springs on Monday, July 7, 2014, gave first reading to an ordinance, text to follow. Council will consider said ordinance for a second reading and a public hearing to begin at 7:10 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2014, in the Bryan Community Center, 100 Dayton St.

An Ordinance Amending Section 252.06 –Personnel Policy Manual – Of Chapter 252 – Employees Generally – Of Part Two – Administrative Code – Of The Codified Ordinances Of The Village Of Yellow Springs, Ohio

WHEREAS, a major object of expenditures in the Village budget is personnel costs, and WHEREAS, the details of administering personnel matters such as fringe benefits are a major influence on those costs, and WHEREAS, managing personnel matters in a consistent and fair manner supports productivity and morale, and WHEREAS, the current personnel policy manual is, in parts, obsolete or differs from current best practices, and WHEREAS, a committee of Village staff have met to draft the proposed new personnel policy manual attached to this document as Exhibit “A”,

Now, Therefore, The Council Of The Village Of Yellow Springs, Ohio Does Hereby Ordain That: Section 1. The existing section 252.06 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Yellow Springs is hereby repealed. Section 2. Council does hereby approve and adopt the attached revised personnel policy manual dated July 1, 2014, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest date permitted by law.
