The 14th Yellow Springs Artist Studio Tour takes place this weekend, Oct. 18 and 19, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at seven artists’ homes in the village. In all, 25 artists will show their work in the event.

This year’s tour features handmade jewelry, pottery, paintings, fabric art, t-shirts, fused glass, furniture, woodblock prints and clay masks, among other items, according to organizer Lisa Goldberg. Tour participants will visit the homes of their choice and may talk to the artists about their work.

Last year, the event netted $30,000 in sales for the artists, according to Goldberg, who said about 2,000 people took the tour, many from regional cities, including Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati.

“I continue to do it because I strongly believe that it gives artists a low-cost way to show and sell their work and relationship-build with their customers,” Goldberg said in a recent interview.

Tour sites are the homes of Dan Minnick at 4535 Meredith Road; Lisa Goldberg at 4619 Meredith Road; Bruce Grimes at 3831 Wilberforce-Clifton Road; Sara Gray at 130 Edgefield Drive; Naysan McIlhargey at 145 E. Hyde Road, Pam Geisel at 573 Ridgecrest Drive and Beth Holyoke at 107 Cliff Street.

Tour brochures are available at the Chamber of Commerce, Young’s Jersey Dairy, The Winds Cafe or online at http://www.ysarts.org.
