Winifred Shuler

Winifred D. Shuler passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at Hospice of Dayton. She was 96.

Winifred was born on April 1, 1919, to the late Newton M. and Myrtle A. (McGreevy) Beare in Lima, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, Winifred was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Carl J. “Jim” Shuler. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, James (fiancée Shannon Schenck); daughters, Dorothy Rike and Helene Lapp; seven grandchildren as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Winifred enjoyed reading mystery books, watching game shows and traveling. She was also a volunteer at Friends Care Center, where they still remember her famous chocolate cakes. A visitation and service were held on Monday, Jan. 25, at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in her memory.
