Annual YSAC Holiday Art Jumble to open

The YS Arts Council’s annual Holiday Art Jumble sale will open for the season this Saturday, Nov. 19, 1–4 p.m., with open hours Wednesday–Sunday, 1–4 p.m., through Dec. 31. The sale will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Each year, the YSAC receives donations of a melange of items to sell in its jumble sale; the items donated may be art or craft pieces, art and craft supplies or simply “art-y.” Since the defining characteristics of these categories are somewhat nebulous, the jumble sale’s contents have tended to vary wildly in the five years since the sale was first held. According to a press release from the YSAC this week: “Last year, in a box with a little pink Christmas tree and antique glass ornaments … we discovered a beautiful, long gold chain with a Victorian gold watch attached. … You never know what you will find, because we never know what will be donated!”
The YSAC will continue to accept donations to the jumble sale through Dec. 20 — which means that the sale itself will continue to be re-stocked as items are donated. The Holiday Art Jumble is a fundraiser event that helps support the YS Arts Council.
