Ordinance authorizing funding for a part-time station manager for the community access channel

Interested persons will take note that the Village Council of Yellow Springs on Monday, November 7, 2016, gave first reading to an ordinance, text to follow.
Council gave a second reading and passed into law during a public hearing on Monday, November 21, 2016, in the Bryan Community Center, 100 Dayton St.
Whereas, the Station Manager for the Community Access Channel of Yellow Springs has not previously been an employee of the Village; and
Whereas, the Community Access Channel of Yellow Springs provides a valuable resource to the community by providing citizens access to information regarding Village government and by providing a platform for community discussion and participation; and
Whereas, Village Council has determined that it would be in the best interest of the Village to authorize the Village Manager to fund a part-time Station Manager position for the Community Access Channel of Yellow Springs,
NOW, THEREFORE, COUNCIL FOR THE VILLAGE OF YELLOW SPRINGS, OHIO HEREBY ORDAINS THAT:
Section 1. Council hereby authorizes the Village Manager to fund a part-time Station Manager position for the Community Access Channel of Yellow Springs and further authorizes the Village Manager to take the necessary steps to create and fund the Station Manager position.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force at the earliest date permitted by law.
