YSHS golf swing practice
On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 20, 22 and 23, from 9 to 11 a.m., “swing sessions” will be held at the Young’s Jersey Dairy driving range. All Yellow Springs High School students planning to participate in varsity golf are invited to begin preparing for the upcoming season.

Alexis Onfroy opened his junior season in cross country by leading the Bulldogs to victory at the 9th annual Ambassador Classic in Xenia on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The YSHS girls soccer team won one and lost one last week. Beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 26, Yellow Springs evinced a 2–0 victory over Tri-County North, but lost to Sidney Lehman 7–0 on Saturday, Aug. 30, to put the team at 3–1 for the season.

The YSHS girls soccer team came out of the gates blazing this year to beat Urbana 3–1 in the first game on Thursday, Aug. 21, and take down Middletown Christian 5–3 on Saturday, Aug. 23.

Bulldog golfers take first match of season
The results of the first golf match of the season, played Monday, Aug. 11, are Yellow Springs High School (178), Troy Christian (181), Xenia Christian (198). The Bulldogs scores were Max Fleishman (senior), 43; Carl Wiener (sophomore), 44; Joe Fugate (senior), 45; and Lucas Donnell (junior), 46.

Golfers raise funds
Despite threatening weather last week, the 2008 Bulldog Scramble held at Locust Hills golf club on Saturday, July 12, came off without a hitch. Sixty-four golfers took to the course in the benefit tournament to raise funds for the Yellow Springs High School golf program.
