    Expectations are high this year for the YSHS girls varsity volleyball team, and in its first match of the year the team didn’t disappoint.

    With two thrilling overtime victories in the first rounds of tournament play, the boys varsity soccer team advanced to the division three district championship game for the fourth year in a row.

    At the Metro Buckeye Conference championships held last Saturday at John Bryan State Park, Yellow Springs seniors Gabe Amrhein and Nerak Patterson led Yellow Springs to the hotly contested men’s title by finishing fifth and seventh overall.

    Carl Wiener shot an 83 at the sectional tournament in Greenville last week, earning him a spot in the state district tournament on Oct. 7. Wiener’s score tied for first among the four individuals advancing to districts and tied him for third in the scoring of all participants. Fellow YSHS golfer Zeb Reichert posted a 104.

  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    The YSHS boys soccer team ended a season-long winning drought on Thursday, Sept. 23, defeating the Xenia Christian Ambassadors 4–1 at home at the school’s homecoming game. Defender Elliot Cromer put the local side up 15 minutes into the match when he scored on an 18-yard looping header from the top of the penalty box.
