  • Expressing the inexpressable through dance

    More than 50 local dancers will perform original pieces at the Yellow Springs Community Dance Concert on Friday and Saturday, March 25–26, at 7 p.m. at Antioch’s South Gym.     Movement can convey more emotion than words. Just watch dancer and choreographer Tricia Gelmini, whose piece at this weekend’s community dance concert will blend sorrow and joy in an expression of loss.

  • Dead again

    Many limber and enthusiastic villagers, both children and adults, showed up at the Bryan Community Center gym on Saturday, Oct. 23, to dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” as part of “Thrill the World,” a worldwide simultaneous dance to the Jackson tune. Ali Thomas, shown at right, and Jade Turner taught the dance at several rehearsals during the week. The dance will be repeated this Saturday, Oct. 30, at 9:30 p.m. in front of Sam & Eddie’s Open Books in downtown. Yellow Springs Dance is sponsoring the events. (photo by Vanessa Query)

    On Saturday, Oct. 23, area zombies descended on the Bryan Center gym to dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” at the same time that thousands danced it all over the world. “Thrill The World” is an annual worldwide simultaneous dance of “Thriller.”
