Yellow Springs Experience: Bronze Symposium— Casting for artistic collaboration
As with many Yellow Springs initiatives, the upcoming Yellow Springs Experience: National Bronze Sculpture Symposium, to take place in October 2013, grew from a series of local conversations, of villagers talking to each other.

Bahnsen’s photos as art, digitized
It was a small gallery on Glen Street. But inside was a trove of artistic images produced through the lens of one of the pioneers of impressionistic photography. The artist was the late Axel Bahnsen.

A whimsical rebirth for trash
Local artist Sondy Kai will display at the opening of her exhibit, “Reincarnated: The New Forever Life of Plastic.” Her show, which runs through Dec. 9, features an array of colorful and bizarre looking “creatures” composed of post-consumer plastic trash.

Reincarnated: The New Forever Life of Plastic
Local artist Sondi Kai will host an opening reception for her exhibit, “Reincarnated: The New Forever Life of Plastic,” at the Yellow Springs Arts Council Gallery (YSAC) on Friday, November 16, from 6 – 9 pm. Ms. Kai will also lead an Artist Talk on December 8 (5-6:30pm) to close her show.

Coming soon to the movie theater nearest you, hopefully
Small movie theaters around the country will soon be shuttered if they can’t find the money to upgrade to digital projection equipment. But in Yellow Springs the show will go on.

Clowns and families alike swarmed Dayton Street for face painting, henna tattoos, food, music, acrobatics, fire dance, hula hooping and more.
