  • All in a day: June 9th’s Street Fair and Music on Main

    The rain held off until early evening, and a sunny June Saturday lured thousands to Yellow Springs for the semi-annual street fair, Some of whom later attended the first Music on Main.

  • Loving the mud, and T-ball

    It was cloudy and rainy Friday night, June 8, our second night of T-ball. It had poured heavily for five minutes at 6:10 p.m., but it was not raining at 6:30 p.m., our start time.

    This Saturday, after Street Fair, Antioch College will host Music on Main, a concert organized by a student group called the Antioch Creative Collective, or ACC.

  • Local businesses plagued by shoplifting

    On Wildflower Boutique’s opening day  three years ago, owner Danyel Mershon placed an expensive necklace on display. At the end of the day, she realized it was gone.

  • Yellow Springs Dharma Center celebrates 25 years

    The Yellow Springs Dharma Center marked its 25th anniversary on Sunday, June 3, with a Buddha’s Enlightenment Day celebration at the center on Livermore Street.     Dorothy G. Sneed, of Yellow Springs, transitioned from this life on Sunday,  June 3, 2018, surrounded by loved ones at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio. She was 88.

    Villager Jeff “Pan” Reich has enjoyed rock climbing for 50 years, starting at John Bryan Park when he was 13. He and his wife, Jane Hockensmith-Reich, regularly climb at a downtown Dayton climbing gym and the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. (Submitted photo)

    At the age of 13, Jeff (Pan) Reich started rock climbing. Nearly 50 years later, Reich climbs rock faces with the seemingly effortless dancing meditative flow of an experienced climber.
