  • The continuing delight of t-ball

The colorful mosaic that is the Perry League continues to startle, astound and delight.

  • Intoxicated by t-ball

So many wonderful things make up this Perry League. Like Melissa Tinker, who brought her two beautiful, athletic, eager, running, hitting boys, Kian Barker, 5, and Neirin Barker, 2.

  • Cold weather, warm hearts: t-ball begins

It was cold. Very cold. And two minutes after I got there, it started to rain. A misty, drizzly, coat-you-completely, icy rain.

Last weekend Antone Truss became the first YSHS high jumper to qualify for the Ohio High School Division III Track & Field Championships in more than 25 years. The senior seemingly defied gravity during the regional meet as he cleared 6’2’’ to secure his position at states and then conquered heights up to 6’6’’ to finish as the regional runner-up. High jumper Antone Truss once again raised the bar by becoming the first Bulldog high jumper to qualify for the state meet in more than 25 years.

The game goes on for six Yellow Springs High School senior athletes who will play their sport at college next year.

  • A true horoscope for t-ball

Oriah Foley was one of many enthusiastic t-ball players last Friday, June 11, at Gaunt Park. T-ball meets there each Friday evening from 6:30–8 p.m. and is open to all 2 to 9 year olds and their parents. (Photo by Aaron Zaremsky)

My horoscope says, “You’ll expend more than the usual amount of effort chasing after others, trying to get them to take care of themselves and be safe, aware and smart.” I’m thinking t-ball. Perry League. It’s that time again.
