More than 20 years ago Jennifer Sharp worked as a janitor at the Little Art Theatre, cleaning the bathrooms and sweeping up popcorn. The 36-year-old is now back as a successful film director to show her first full-length feature.

Former village resident Pauline Portugalo Breiter died Sunday, April 25, in Bloomington, Ind. She was 96. Born March 8, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the third of four daughters to Meier and Dora Portugalo. Her parents emigrated from the Ukraine during the first decade of the last century, and they sold fruit and vegetables from pushcarts and stores in New York City.

The Yellow Springs swim team will hold an organizational meeting on Wednesday, May 12, 6:30 p.m., at the library. The group will vote on officers for the upcoming year, organize committees and discuss concerns about the upcoming season.
