David Kearney

David A. Kearney of Clifton died peacefully in the morning of Friday, April 20, in his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was 63.

David was born in Cleveland on May 2, 1948, the son of the late David A. and Julia (Secrest) Kearney. David was a 1970 graduate of Cedarville College. He worked as an investment advisor for Waddell and Reed Investments. He was a faithful member of Clifton Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.

David is survived by his wife of 39 years, Denise C. (Walters) Kearney, by his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Kearney (Matthew Teeter) of San Francisco, Calif., by his son, David Jonathan (Cheryl Ann) Kearney of Cedarville and by two grandchildren, Ava Lynne Claire and Riley Gage Kearney. Also surviving are two sisters, Ruth (Terry) Hales of Cleveland and Linnie Ann Kearney of Idaho, two brothers, Terry (Sharon) Kearney of Louisville, Ky. and James Kearney of Claremont, Calif., mother-in-law Dorothy C. Walters, father-in-law Charles (Joan) Walters and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Diedre Kearney for her comforting assistance during David’s illness and to Community Mercy Hospice. A service in celebration of David’s life was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24 at Clifton Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Arby Conn officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clifton Presbyterian Church Mission Fund, P.O. Box 103, Clifton, OH 45316.
