Kazuko Radtke

Kazuko Kawano Radtke of Bellbrook died Monday, Jan. 21 at Southview Hospital. She was 80.
Kazuko was born Jan. 3, 1933, in Kawagoe-Shi, Japan to Moto and Sadasuke Kawano. Kazuko was a member of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), Dayton Visual Arts Center, Miami Valley Folk Dancers, Dayton Printmakers Coop and various other visual art organizations, and attended Far Hills Community Church. She had a great appreciation for life, nature and freedom in America. Her greatest passions were her family, her art and her faith.
Kazuko was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and her siblings Matsuko, Hiro and Toshiko. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Yumi Radtke of Volcano, Hawaii, two sons, former Yellow Springs resident Edward Radtke of Austin, Texas, and John Radtke and his wife, Anita, of Lebanon, two grandchildren, David Dodds and Yama Radtke and two great-grandchildren, Haylie and Kylie Dodds.
The family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, at Far Hills Community Church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, at Far Hills Community Church, with Pastor Tony Chester officiating. Burial will follow in Bellbrook Cemetery.
