The Little Art Theatre — one of the country’s few remaining one-screen movie houses — hit hit the national spotlight Tuesday.

After the showing its last 35mm film reel, the tiny theater will close for a major, months-long renovation and upgrade, which includes the installation of a digital projection system.

This prompted a visit from National Public Radio. Andy Holyoke, the Little Art’s longtime projectionist and projector maintenance man, was interviewed by NPR about his 30-year tenure at the theater, his feelings about film, projectors and the future of movie screening.

You can read or listen to the interview at the NPR website here.
