A crowd of local students and community members converged on the Yellow Springs library last Wednesday, March 22, for the dedication of a historical marker for renowned author Virginia Hamilton, who grew up and lived most of her life in Yellow Springs. The Hamilton marker was initiated in a 2014 project of a Dayton Regional STEM school class taught by Kevin Lydy, who now teaches at Yellow Springs High School, and is one of six markers in the area approved by the Ohio History Connection. Funding for the Hamilton marker was provided by the Yellow Springs Community Foundation and the Greene County Public Library.
