Community input sought for future PBL projects

Yellow Springs Schools is requesting ideas from the community for future project-based learning projects. In an effort to increase the authenticity of student projects, the schools are looking for problems, challenges and needs facing the community. Whether in large or small ways, making a visible change in the community engages students.

Past projects have included second-graders mapping the ash trees at Mills Lawn; fourth-graders working to address affordable housing; ninth-graders addressing water access around the world; and tenth-graders working to decrease the trash and graffiti in Glen Helen.

The deadline for submission is Feb. 28; those interested in submitting ideas may fill out an online form here, or contact Eli Hurwitz at ehurwitz@ysschools.org.
