Antioch School
The Antioch School’s Older Group was recently immersed in storytelling and theater, thanks to special guest Christopher Westhoff, of the Mad River Theater Works performing arts company, who spent a portion of each day last week at the school. Westhoff helped students develop their own play about the life and influence of retired Older Group teacher Bill Mullins, which they performed last Friday. The Antioch School will hold its annual Auction Gala event at the Foundry Theater, on Antioch College’s campus, on Saturday, March 3. The annual silent and live auction is part of the schools fundraising effort, whose goal is to raise $75,000 this year. The school’s goal for the Auction Gala is $30,000, so the school can continue to offer scholarships to its diverse student body.

Tickets to the event cost $50 a piece, and include entry to the live auction, a large hors d’oeuvre catered by Current Cuisine, an open wine bar, and a live performance by the rising comedian, Mo Amer.

Amer gained instant notoriety in December, 2016 when in the midst of America’s transition from President Obama to President Trump, Amer was upgraded to a first-class airline seat next to Eric Trump for a six and a half hour trip to Glasgow, Scotland. Amer has since made his network debut on The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert.

Tickets are limited but still available at http://www.antiochschool.org or by calling 937-767-7642. More information about the event and Mo Amer is printed on the front page the February, 22 Yellow Springs Newspaper, in an article written by Carol Simmons.
