Mental health first aid training offered

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Antioch College Office of Student Life, in association with the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Greene County, will host a local mental health first-aid training on Friday, June 1, 8 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

With mental health challenges prevalent in the U.S. — more than one in five American adults will have a mental health problem in any given year — the National Council for Behavioral Health certifies individuals throughout the nation to provide mental health first aid courses to equip communities with skills to help individuals who are developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps the public to better identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses.

The workshop will be held in the Art and Sciences Building, room 202, at Antioch College, and is offered free of charge. Registration is limited to 30 participants; register online at mhfaantioch.eventbrite.com, using the password “MHFAAntioch.” Refreshments will be served; participants are asked to provide their own lunch.
