Jalyn Q. Roe of the Community Empowerment Organization, or CEO, and Jennifer Berman of Antioch College, are organizers of the Second Restorative Justice Conference with a focus on sexual violence, which takes place this weekend, June 1 and 2, at the Bryan Center and Antioch College. All are welcome to the free opening event and panel discussion at 7 p.m. Friday, June 1, at the John Bryan Center.

The second Restorative Justice Conference in Yellow Springs takes place this Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2, with a focus on using restorative justice techniques in situations of sexual violence.

The conference, “Are We there Yet?” kicks off with a free opening community panel discussion featuring national experts on using restorative justice strategies in sexual and domestic violence situations. The event, which takes place Friday, June 1, at 7:30 p.m. at John Bryan Center, features Duke Fisher  of the Skidmore College Project on Restorative Justice, Dr. Joan Pennell, director of the Center for Family and Community Engagement at North Carolina State University, and Kaaren Williamsen, director of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center at the University of Michigan. The public is invited.

On the following day, the daylong conference kicks off at 9 a.m. at Antioch College. The cost for the daylong event is $65 for adults, $25 for students.
