Wesley H. Sizemore

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Wesley H. Sizemore died Oct. 2, 2018, at his home in Key West, Fla., at the age of 73. He is survived by his mother, Dolores Sizemore, of Yellow Springs; his brother, Wayne Sizemore (Kay), of Fort Mill, S.C.; and his sister, Evelyn Gray (Tom), of Yellow Springs.

Wesley was a resident of Key West since 1976; there he had an electrical business, from which he recently retired. He loved the old Key West, a small fishing village, and was sorely disappointed at the changes with commercial tourism and cruise ships.

Wesley was a graduate of the University of Missouri and the University of Toronto, from which he received a B.A. and an M.A., respectively. He resisted the draft in 1968 and lived in Toronto and Paris for eight years, until he was granted amnesty.

Travel was his dream and he did just that throughout his life. He authored a book, “Tropical Quest,” and co-authored “Key West Shorts” with Edgardo A. Vasquez.

Wesley will be sorely missed by his family and an abundance of friends who loved him deeply and enjoyed his intellect and sense of humor. There will be a celebration of his life in Key West as well as in Yellow Springs.
