January 14th and 15th, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Food, Farm, and Fire Camp , at Agraria Farm, for ages 6-12. . Explore food, farm, and fire with the Land School at Agraria. Get dressed for the weather and spend this active, outdoor two-day camp learning through themed hands-on activities and nature play. For Food & Farm, children will start seeds for a winter garden, discover what’s growing in our hoop house, and share a meal. For Fire, children will learn to start a friction fire safely and prepare a nutritious, foraged tea and fresh food over an open fire. February 18th and 19th, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tapping & Tracking Camp , in-person at Agraria Farm. February is a great month to see animal tracks and collect tree sap for syrup. We invite children ages 6-12 to explore and play games as we search for animal homes, antler sheds, and other signs that animals are moving about the land. Learn how different animals move and match tracks to their owners. Between looking for animal signs, learn how to tap trees and which trees have the tastiest sap. The camp will culminate in a sap boil and syrup tasting. February 25th, March 18th, and April 15th (tentative). Growing Green Conference 2023. This conference is co-produced by Tecumseh Land Trust and Agraria Center for Regenerative Practice as part of the Jacoby Partnership, a Regional Conservation Partnership Program through USDA. It will include presentations about practical ways farmers and growers can build their soil health and be part of the regional efforts to restore our local waterways. We will also provide an overview about the Jacoby Creek stream and wetland restoration project. Stay tuned for more details! March 1st, April 5th, and May 3rd, 5:30-7 p.m. Spring Land Walk: Wildflowers & Wild Forages , at Agraria Farm. The birds are singing, and the trees are budding! Explore new beginnings, learn about foraging wild plants, and search for spring ephemerals during this land walk led by youth educator Celia Montemurri. May 27, 2023. Agraria Annual Spring Farm Festival, at Agraria Farm. Join us as we celebrate the coming of Spring! There will be family- friendly activity stations, farm tours, local music, lawn games, and more! All proceeds will support Agraria’s mission. Aug 3-5, 2023. Homesteader School, Agraria Farm. A multi-day school full of workshops focused on learning homesteading skills such as making mushroom logs, backyard chickens, no-till bed prep, bread baking, berry planting, and more. Aug 4-5, 2023. Homesteader Kids’ Camp, Agraria Farm. A super fun kids’ Homesteader School for ages 6-12. September 8-9, 2023. Fourth annual Black farming conference. Sun & Moon Poetry Festival. Watch for details as they unfold about our collaboration with the Ohio Poetry Association, which is bringing the festival back to Yellow Springs after a three-year hiatus. Our grounds will be teeming with readings, writing workshops, yoga, music, and more to explore the intersections between poetry, the land, and the sky. October 2023. Bioregional Regeneration Gathering, on the land and online. Our annual fall conference will highlight bioregional projects and on-the-ground and educational projects from around the country. October 21, 2023. Annual Fall Festival. Join us as we celebrate the harvest season at Agraria with a fun-filled community day on the farm featuring fall food and drinks, live music, farm tours, scarecrow making, kids’ seed & soil activities, fireside storytelling, and more.
