Join Macy Reynolds, native plant expert and pollinator friendly gardener, in learning how to support native bees, butterflies, and other pollinators throughout the season with a gorgeous, well-planned native garden. July 17th, 1:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m., Annual Meeting, Agraria barn. Join us for our annual meeting to hear updates on our work; celebrate those who have helped us accomplish it, and help us plan for the future. July 20th, 5:30 p.m.–7:00 p.m., CommUnity Herbalism Skillshare: Tinctures and Oxymels in-person at Agraria Farm. Join herbalist Amy Chavez, during these 3rd Wednesday monthly sessions. Participants will gather on the land, identify and harvest medicinal plants, and create medicines for specific body system healing. This session will focus on the art science of preserving medicine in the folk herbalist traditions of tincture and oxymel making. Learn how to preserve your herbs into wonderfully tasty and useful medicines. No experience is necessary. August 10th, 5:30 p.m.–7 p.m., Native Plant Landscape Series: Habitat Friendly Fall Care, in- person at Agraria Farm. August 12-14th, 9a.m.–5p.m., Grain School, in-person at Agraria Farm. Join us for our immersive, three-day Grain School to learn about the craft, culture, and cultivation of Ancient Heritage Grains. In partnership with Agraria Center for Regenerative Practice, Antioch College, Tecumseh Land Trust, Appalachian Staple Foods Collaborative, Rural Action, and Cornville Seed. Gather on the land with herbalist Amy Chavez to identify and harvest medicinal plants, and create medicines for specific body system healing. This session will focus on the practical and creative ways we can incorporate herbal medicine into our foods and lifestyle in a way that can strengthen the immune system’s capacity to go back to school and face the germs, optimize the nervous systems’s capacity for learning, and support digestive health. No experience is necessary. September 9th–10th, Black Farming Conference: Roots, Food & Storytelling, virtual & in-person. This year's conference, Roots, Food, and Storytelling will build upon the legacy of our ancestral roots of food from the African diaspora and the power of storytelling through food, family, and American culture.
