ROTARY JOINS YELLOW SPRINGS CIVIC GROUPS By CAROL S IMMONS T he local Masonic Lodge and the Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows each date the beginnings of their Yellow Springs chapters to the mid- 1800s. And for many recent years, their memberships rep- resented the only traditional civic organizations in town. Until late 2020, that is, when recent village transplant Dan Robrish launched a local affiliate of one of the most recognizable civic clubs in the country — The Rotary. Technically a satellite of an established chapter in Fair- born, until local membership rises enough to support inde- pendence, the Yellow Springs group has been meeting twice a month since its organization. While there are social aspects to the group that Robrish finds appealing, he said The Rotary’s focus on service is what sealed his commitment to the organi- zation and what led him to believe it would fit well in Yellow Springs.
