We also had a son who is now a teacher and political activist in SF. In all I have three children and three grandchildren, and sets of in-laws. Sally, alas, was diagnosed with breast cancer ten years after our marriage, and had to deal with this for eighteen years, ending her life with a very long, tender hospice-at- home experience. Since 1984, home has been the Haight-Ashbury. I am there about half the time and am now married to Faye, a delightful former co-worker from San José,now based in the Gold Country near Yosemite. We have been bouncing around Sonora, San Francisco and Tuscany, tending gar- dens in several places, enjoying life in very different cultures, and support- ing the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, the AAUP, Doctors Without Borders and Oxfam. Lately, Antioch wander- lust has broadened my horizons by getting to new places, e.g.,Thimpu and Tashkent, Kochi and Ramallah, Bishkek and Bukhara, Isfahan and Almaty. I suppose the pattern of liv- ing out of a suitcase started with the co-op program! So that’s it.Thank you, Antioch, David and Faye in Venice. for so much: a university profession, co-op,AEA,WYSO, folk dancing, the Friday Flicks, a passion for travel, dedicated faculty and amazing stu- dents, lasting friendships, and a great sendoff for my personal and profes- sional life. With Faye at Taj Mahal. At the Tuscan house.
