PERSONAL LIFE: The important element in my pri- vate life, during all those years, was my wife’s political career: she was on the Madison City Council for 12 years, and then served as Mayor for 6. In retirement, I’ve been doing what I want, and not what I don’t: mainly playing music with friends in bars, senior centers, retirement com- munities, and nursing homes, travel- ling (South Africa, Iceland, Portugal, New Zealand, ...), reading mysteries, and fly-fishing (New Mexico, Utah, Alaska, Upper and Lower Michigan, Arkansas, ...). HOW MY TIME AT ANTIOCH FACTORED INTO THE ABOVE, ETC.: I learned to program computers on my third co-op job. My working life was largely built on that experi- ence. I have been following develop- ments at Antioch through alumni communications. Although I run into other Antiochians from time to time (a number of them live or have lived in the Madison area), I have not been in close contact with them.
