I was born in 1942 in Yellow Springs where my Antioch alumni parents, Skip and Libby, lived in and managed the Greywood Inn after runningTheTavern for several years. After the birth of my sister,Victoria, we left YSO and did not return until 1957—brother Dan in tow—to com- plete our education at Bryan High School. Even though my math scores were abysmal, I convinced the ad- missions committee at Antioch that I was the kind of student they wanted since I was really self-motivated and believed wholeheartedly in the sign in the theater shop that said “If you want it badly enough, make it your- self.” And I thought the co-op pro- gram was not only a wonderful way to get an education but would also allow me to get out of town. So in 1960 I entered Antioch College with fellow “townies” Paula Treichler, Sherrie Scott and Barrie Dallas. We were evidently the largest group of children of alumni to enter Antioch at one time. Antioch was truly wonderful and I was able to combine my interest in art, psychology and the theater and have co-op jobs that showed how these interests could be manifest in the real world. Costume mistress for the Shakespeare Festival, assistant at the La Jolla Art Center in California, nurse’s aide at the Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, art therapist at the seriously misnamed men- tal inpatient institution High Point Hospital in upstate New York and a year abroad at Leeds University in England. During this time I also met and lost a dear friend and fellow Antiochian, Dick Raymond, and met my first husband, Steve Dietz, the fa- ther of my only son, Erik. After Antioch, l got a degree in educational psychology at Tufts in conjunction with the Judge Baker Guidance Center in Boston. After working several years in the field of children with emotional prob- lems, made the difficult transition to the visual arts and an M.F.A, in Printmaking at the Museum School in Boston. The issue of how to make a liv- ing was solved by a series of jobs in graphic design, secretarial work, teaching, etc. Leslie and Jemi 2007. In 1985 I finally left the world
