Nice to have a prescreen before starting a new book. When she suggested Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow she said it was a love story. In my mind that meant a beach read — probably not for me. Then I read in the NYT that their readers rated this book at number 7 in the top 100 books for the 21st century. With some skepticism, I read first few pages and soon met a couple of 12 year old kids (Sadie and Sam) who met in a hospital waiting room and were instant best friends bonding over computer games. What follows is a 25-year story about friendship, work and yes, love. The work part of the story is centered on developing com- puter games. That aspect of the story was a real eye opener for me — both entertaining and educational. As the story unfolds several more interesting characters join the story line and definitely add some excitement, happiness and context to the happenings around Sadie and Sam. I really enjoyed this book. An engaging read that moves along at a good pace and ends with a few surprises. “Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow” is available at the YS Library and as an ebook or audiobook on Hoopla. It was also available in late September as a used book from Dark Star.
