EMILY BARTH PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Julie Barth I arrived at this district in 10th grade, so I was a bit distant from my peers. Despite that, I was able to find a friend group. I’ve never had such a large and close group of friends before. I love how accepting this school is! Thanks for every- thing these past two years. CHLOE BAYARD PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Elizabeth and Alan Bayard My time at Yellow Spring High School has been a very fulfilling experience. I have attended Yellow Spring School since the first grade. Since then, I have created relation- ships with people who have become my forever friends. Teachers who have taught me things that no one else ever could and have changed learning for me. Many thanks to all the staf f of Yellow Springs Schools for all you do to make our school an inviting place for students. I would love to give a special shout-out to all of my teachers for being amazing, and I would like to personally recognize Mr. Neal, Mrs. Pollock, Mrs. Mor- rison, Mrs. Hyatt, Mrs. Lutz, Mrs. Corrigan, Mrs. F, and Mr. Lowry — your suppor t throughout my academic experiences will never be forgotten. Also to all of my coaches for uplifting me. From the pep rallies, field trips, homecoming, prom and sporting events to walking around town and getting Corner Cone, these are times I will never forget. I wouldn’t want to change anything about the experience I have had at Yellow Springs High School, and I am so unbelievably grateful for that. After graduating from high school, I will attend The Ohio State University as an exploratory student. ANIKIN BODEN PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Alicia Thompson and Abraham Boden Even though it probably doesn’t seem like it, I’ve learned many things about the world and how to be a functioning person through this time of my life at Yellow Springs. I’ve learned how to see topics through other perspectives that I wouldn’t have explored before. In addition, Yellow Springs has presented me with a handful of options that I otherwise would not have had. From building a lost-and- found to raising money for a char- ity of my choice, there is almost nothing that I haven’t been able to attempt or pursue through this school and community. I’d like to shout out all of my teachers for putting up with me, I’m not sure why they did. Goodbye. MALIK BOOTH PARENTS/GUARDIANS: John Booth I am very happy to have grown up in Yellow Springs. I am very grateful my parents, John and Maria Booth, found this town; I can’t think of a better town to grow up in Ohio. I love how safe and inclusive this town is. The people who have helped me the most in school are my friends, to have these friends for 10-plus years is very special to me. The bond we have is more like brothers than friends. They are the ones who made me go to school just to see them and laugh with them. I have found great value in my interactions with my closest friends, they are my favorite most important people in the world. Even the most mundane, insignificant moments with those guys, I am grateful for every second. The person that helped me my whole life would be my sister, Malaya. She has been the best person in my life, she has helped me so much as I’ve grown up. She has introduced me to so much cool pop culture and music. She has helped make the world a little less scary knowing she’s always gonna be there. My mom, Maria Booth, inspires me to be a great person, never losing that inner kid inside, and to never be ashamed to be myself. She was always so loving and caring toward me my whole life. She passed last year of cancer; this inspires me to be a good guy. I want to be someone she is proud to call her son. I want to honor her name and be the best person I can be. I will never forget the kind of person she was because I have never met anyone else like her. I plan on working for a bit after high school to make some more money, then going through the process to become an electrician through trade school.
