Common Pleas Court Judge Vote for 1 (Term begins 1/1/21) Responsibilities: To preside at trials of both civil and criminal cases; to supervise the jury commission,grand jury,and other departments of the court. GEORGE KORDALIS BIO: I was born and raised in Montgomery County. I graduated from Centerville High School, The Ohio State University, and The University of Dayton School of Law. Upon graduating Law School, I started my own law firm, Kordalis Law Office, LLC. ANSWER #1: I am best qualified candidate for the position because I practice in this Court on a daily. I currently operate law offices in Dayton and Xenia, and I focus on the very types of cases most often in front of the Common Pleas Court. I have personally handled over 400 criminal and civil cases in the Montgomery County Courts in the past three years. In addition to my private practice, I also serve as Special Prosecutor for the City of Xenia. ANSWER #2: I would seek out Judge Mary Wiseman as a mentor or role model if l am elected. I have handled cases in front of all eleven judges in the Common Pleas Court. Judge Wiseman has stood out to me with regards to how she treats everyone that comes before her. Judge Wiseman always treats every criminal defendant with dignity and has also treated every lawyer and prosecutor in the same fashion. Judge Wiseman has shown a fair and balanced approach to every case I’ve had before her. SUSAN D. SOLLE BIO: Dayton native; Graduated with honors from University of Dayton School of Law 1999; Practicing civil litigation since 2002, Dinsmore & Shohl since 2004; Past President, Dayton Bar Association; Past President, Legal Aid organizations; Adjunct Professor, UDSL; Ohio Promote the Vote since 2008 ANSWER #1: I have been a lawyer practicing virtually every area of civil law that I will decide as a common pleas judge for the past 18 years. I also have experience deciding various civil and criminal issues as a law clerk in the common pleas court, staff attorney in the court of appeals, and as an acting judge on the Montgomery County Municipal Court. Equally important, I have the right temperament,compassion,and sense of fairness. ANSWER #2: I am running for the open seat being vacated by Judge Barbara Gorman, who is my friend and role model. Judge Gorman was the first woman to serve as Judge in the General Division of Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. Her contributions to this community on the bench and off have been an inspiration to me my entire career. I have very big shoes to fill, but I know I am up to the task. Probate Court Judge Vote for 1 Responsibilities: The Probate Court has exclusive jurisdiction over the administration of estates and trusts, appointment of guardians for incompetents and estates of minors, adoptions, the issuance of marriage licenses, name changes, commitment of the mentally ill and various other actions. I have handled hundreds of matters in Probate Courts. Besides probate, I have experience litigating cases all the way through the Ohio Supreme Court and federal Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. As far as volunteer service, I served as chair to the Dayton Bar Association probate law committee (2013-2020) and continue to serve other non-profit organizations. ANSWER #2: Supreme Court Justice Earl Warren. He issued landmark decisions during a time when social change was crucial involving Constitutional protections, integration and voting. He was a unifying force, as he was nominated by both Republican and Democratic parties for office. Fellow justices agreed with him on numerous cases. As 2020 has presented numerous challenges for this community and Americans, there is a need for fair, efficient and access to services, which serves as a model. ARVIN S.
