Common Pleas Judge Vote for 1 Probate Division Responsibilities: The Probate Court has exclusive jurisdiction over the administrationofestatesandtrusts,appointmentofguardiansfor incompetents and estates of minors, adoptions, the issuance of marriage licenses, name changes, commitment of the mentally ill and various other actions. QUESTION #2: There are many different courts in our court system. Why did you choose to run for the Probate Court? MARK J. BABB BIO: I graduated from Ohio State College of law in 1998. My wife Janet and I have two children, Violet (14) and Henry (7). My law practice has always been in Greene County. I am themanaging partner at Babb, Anderson, Rowland & Smith in Fairborn. ANSWER #1: The Greene County Bar Association has endorsed me for Probate Judge overmyopponentwho isthecurrent judge. Ihavegainedthetrustandrespectof those around me by being a powerful voice for people in very difficult situations. My deep and abiding faith in the rule of law and the American legal system has guided me in my pursuits for justice. I am an honest and patient person capable of seeing both sides of a situation. ANSWER #2: We need a change in the Greene County Probate Court. Judge O’Diam has put Greene County in the news for the wrong reasons. He ordered the Greene County Commissioners give him another courtroom that was used by other judges. The Ohio Supreme Court ruled he had no authority to do that. He wasted government time and resources largely because he wanted a bigger courtroom. I want to bring good judgment back to the Probate Court. ANSWER #1: Iamthebestqualifiedcandidate for Greene County Probate Court Judge because I have unmatched experience and expertise in probate law. I have devoted my entire 35-year career to estate planning, trust, and probate law – 28 years as a practicing attorney and seven years as Probate Judge. I have proven knowledge, experience, and ability to handle the role of Greene County Probate Judge from day one. ANSWER #2: I am seeking re-election to my second full term as Judge of Greene County Probate Court because probate has been the focus of my entire professional career. I have extensive experience on both sides of the bench in probate matters. This court is best suited for my expertise in probate law. Sugarcreek Township Trustee Vote for 1 UnexpiredTerm Ending 12/31/2021 *Indicates incumbent QUESTION #1: If elected, what will be your top priority for your term in office? QUESTION #2: What approach would you suggest to guide economic development and preserve quality of life in the township? FRED CRAMER* BIO: FredCramerandhiswifeJeanniehave lived in SugarcreekTownship for 20 years. Fred served on the BZA for 12 years. After IBM, Fred founded Guide Technologies, a reseller of software. Fred is currently a trustee filling Mike Pittman’s term. ANSWER #1 Fred’s number one goal as a trustee is to bring economic development to the township to increase revenue as an alternative to taxation. Since Mike Pittman recommended me for the job of trustee, I have brought a new business into Sugarcreek Township, have a hand-shake offer on another, and working with a new restaurant to move into the township. I love selling the virtues of SugarcreekTownship. ANSWER #2: The township is currently zoned for business along the Wilmington Pike corridor and green space for the rest of the township. My goal is to keep the green spaces in the township and bring quality restaurants, entertainment, and services to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Sugarcreek Township without raising taxes. I also want to work to get grants to continue the bike paths. MARVIN MOELLER BIO: Lifelong Sugarcreek Township resident, Served our Township as Firefighter/Paramedic, First Fire Chief, former Township Trustee, Fire prevention officer, college Degree in Public Safety Administration. Recently retired from the fire service and farming. Well qualified and educated for the position. ANSWER #1: We need to use the resources we have to stop the annexation of our township. We have lost land to the city of Centerville, (Example corner of Wilmington pike and Feedwire) Kettering and Bellbrook over the past years.This is tax dollars lost that the current residents have to pick up. I will find ways with my experience and education to move our township into the future without raising our taxes and to stop annexation. ANSWER #2: The Comprehensive Land Use Plan was adopted by the Township created by a group of citizens which I participated in. There’s zoning regulation which were adopted when I was a Trustee.We need to work with the land owners to encourage them not to annex their land to a city.We need to use the planswhichwere adopted to guide our township economic development into the future.As aTrustee I will do this. State School Board District 10 Vote for 1 The 10th Ohio State School Board District covers an area that includes all or part of seventeen counties stretching from west central to central to southern Ohio. The counties are: ALL of Adams, Brown, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Fayette, Gallia, Greene, Highland,Jackson, Lawrence, Madison, Pike, Ross, Scioto, and PARTS of Vinton and Pickaway Counties. The 19-member state school board is responsible for setting policyand directing the planning and evaluative functions of Ohio’s public schools. These duties include setting policies to guide the administrative work of ODE, approving Ohio Administrative Code relating to K-12 education, and adopting legislative and budget recommendations for Ohio public education.
