        CozattEvelyn Cozatt of Xenia died on Monday, June 30, at Quaker Heights Nursing 
        Home in Waynesville. She was 86.
  She retired from 
        Grafton-Kennedy Public Schools after 30 years of teaching.  She was preceded 
        in death by her husband, Paul, and two brothers, McKay and James Goode.  She is survived by 
        two nieces, Deborah and her husband, Andrew Jerison, of Yellow Springs 
        and Carolyn and her husband, John Paul Jones, of Marietta; and two nephews, 
        David and his wife, Elizabeth Goode, of Yellow Springs and James and his 
        wife, Rebecca Heskamp-Goode, of North Carolina.  Graveside services 
        were held on Wednesday, July 2, at Miami Cemetery. Stubbs-Conner Funeral 
        Home in Waynesville served the family. Memorial contributions may be made 
        to SICSA, 2600 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45459.  
        Janet HackettJanet M. Hackett of Yellow Springs died Thursday morning, July 3, in Friends 
        Care Community. She was 94.
  She was born on April 
        17, 1909, in Clark County, the daughter of Charles and Geraldine (Hathaway) 
        Mellinger.   She lived for 66 
        years on Xenia Avenue in Yellow Springs. Employed many years at Antioch 
        College, she was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Yellow Springs 
        Senior Center and Friendly Gardeners. A member of the Glen Helen Association, 
        she spent many hours in Glen Helen and led wildflower hikes for years. 
        She had a vast knowledge of all flowers in the Glen and also loved birds.  She was preceded 
        in death by her parents; her husband, Harold J. Hackett on Feb. 2, 1989; 
        and two sisters, Emma Dibble and Gretchen Corzetto.  She is survived by 
        her nephews, Dennis Hackett, Greg Hackett and Phil Hackett, all of Cincinnati, 
        and several other nephews and nieces.  A funeral mass was 
        held Monday, July 7, in St. Paul Catholic Church, with burial in St. Paul 
        Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Yellow Springs Senior 
        Center. |  |
