Mary
Wolbert
Mary Ann Wolbert
of Springfield died on Thursday, Oct. 9, in her residence, following five
years of failing health. She was 78.
Born in Dayton on
Aug. 14, 1925, she was the daughter of Edward J. and Agnes (Farrell) Bushman.
She attended Catholic
Central High School and was a graduate of Springfield Business College.
She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign War 1031 Auxiliary and was
very active in the Liedertafel Club. She was a member of St. Joseph Church.
She also was a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center’s Parent and Infant
Center, the Treasurer Chest and the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Wolbert was
preceded in death by two sons, David A., in 2002, and Mark in 1956; two
sisters, Ruth Minnette and Teresa Wilber; and a brother, Donald Bushman.
She is survived by
her husband of 56 years, John Richard Wolbert; two sons and daughters-in-law,
John and Sandi Wolbert of Sebring, Fla., and Steve and Sandy Wolbert of
Springfield; grandchildren, Andrea and Jay Adams, Amy Steed, Matt and
Angela Nickell, Brian Buckmaster and Jennifer Buckmaster; great-grandchildren,
Kerastin, Dylan, Tyler, Kristen, Casey, Kyle, Pike and Kennedy; three
brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Ann and Joe Holly of Yellow Springs;
Roland Minnette of Springfield; and Robert and Mary Wolbert of Springfield;
and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian
burial was held on Monday, Oct. 13, in St. Joseph Church, with burial
following at St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Community
Hospital Hospice or the James Cancer Clinic at Community Hospital.
