ESTABLISHING A VILLAGE OF YELLOW SPRINGS BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
ORDINANCE 2021-12, VILLAGE OF YELLOW SPRINGS, OHIO
Interested persons will take note that the Village Council of Yellow Springs on Monday, June 7, 2021, gave first reading to an ordinance and passed as an emergency, text to follow.
WHEREAS, due to increasing local growth of both residential properties and
businesses, the Village of Yellow Springs, Ohio requires local enforcement of the building codes to properly facilitate and oversee these ventures; and
WHEREAS, the State of Ohio requires establishment of a building department prior to the exercise of enforcement authority,
NOW, THEREFORE, COUNCIL FOR THE VILLAGE OF YELLOW SPRINGS, OHIO HEREBY ORDAINS THAT:
Section 1. A Village of Yellow Springs Building Department is hereby established.
Section 2. Said department shall have full authority to enforce all laws, statutes and regulations as provided and authorized in the Ohio Revised Code and the Ohio Administrative Code pursuant to the Certification approved by and Certification rule adopted by the Ohio Board of Building Standards.
Section 3. In order to immediately respond to the need of the Village to welcome economic and residential growth as a means of remaining fiscally healthy and responsive to both residents, potential residents and entrepreneurs, this ordinance is deemed an emergency measure, effective immediately upon adoption.
