REPEALING AND REPLACING SECTION 1040.13 “UTILITY ROUND UP PROGRAM” OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF YELLOW SPRINGS, OHIO TO ALLOW FOR THE ROUND UP PROGRAM TO FUNCTION AS AN OPT OUT PROGRAM
ORDINANCE 2023-43, VILLAGE OF YELLOW SPRINGS, OHIO
Interested persons will take note that the Village Council of Yellow Springs on Monday, Dec. 4, gave first reading to the following ordinance. Council will give a second reading and hold public hearing on this ordinance for possible passage into law on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, in the Bryan Community Center, 100 Dayton St.
With the passage of this ordinance, any customer can opt out of the Utility Round Up Program, wherein utility customers’ bills are rounded up to the nearest whole dollar with the round up funds collecting in a special fund to be used to assist Village utility account holders who are experiencing financial hardship. To opt out, one would contact the Village Utility Office.
This ordinance would take effect on Jan. 18, 2024.
