ORDINANCES 2025-18, 2025-19, 2025-20, 2025-21, 2025-22

VILLAGE OF YELLOW SPRINGS, OHIO

Interested persons will take note that the Village Council of Yellow Springs on Monday, Oct. 6, gave first reading to the following four ordinances. Council will give second readings and hold public hearings on these ordinances on Monday, Oct. 20, 2025.

Ordinance 2025-18 Repeal and Replace Section 1264.02 “General Requirements: Table 1264.02 “Parking Requirements by Use” of the Zoning Code for the Village of Yellow Springs: This ordinance updates bicycle parking requirements and adds a bicycle parking requirement for TGLs inadvertently omitted in original adoption of the requirement.

Ordinance 2025-19 Repeal and Replace Chapter 1262.08(e)(7)(B) Specific Requirements: “Location” Amending Measurement for Required Distance Between Transient Guest Lodging Establishments: This ordinance would change the method for measuring distance between TGL establishments.

Ordinance 2025-20 Adding New Section 1048.09 “Required Backflow Prevention” to Chapter 1048 “Sewers and Sewage” of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Yellow Springs: This ordinance will require new construction to install sewer backflow prevention to all construction requiring a building permit.

Ordinance 2025-21 Repeal and Replace Chapter 1284 “Definitions” to Add Definitions for “Deck”; “Floodplain Administrator”; “Low Attached Deck” and to Amend Definition of Accessory Dwelling Unit: In this ordinance, definitions are added for Deck, Floodplain Administrator and Low Attached Deck. The definition of Accessory Dwelling Unit is expanded to include attached or detached decks.

Ordinance 2025-22 Repeal and Replace Chapter 1268 Site Plan Review: This ordinance clarifies that a site plan review application is not required for additions to single-family dwellings, fences, and attached decks.
