The Yellow Springs News is an award-winning independent weekly newspaper serving residents of Yellow Springs, Ohio and Miami Township. We are proud to be the area’s source for news and opinion since 1880.
The News reflects the myriad activities in Yellow Springs, Ohio and Miami Township, from coverage of the local governments and schools, to stories about interesting people who live here, to the many events that take place throughout the year. Published every Thursday, the News is read regularly by more than 80 percent of Yellow Springers.
In 2005, the News celebrated its 125th year of publishing. Through financial ups and downs, changes in ownership and editors, controversies, heartache and triumph, the News has been there, printing tens of thousands of pages documenting the life and times of Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Over the years, the paper has consistently won state and national journalism awards for its reporting, editorial writing, advertising, typography and community service.
In 2007, the News won first place, or the general excellence award, in its size category at the Ohio Newspaper Association annual contest for weekly papers. In 2008, the News won first place in editorial writing, feature writing and original columns, along with awards for in-depth reporting, special editions and advertising.
